Arc of St. Clair, Alabama, Board of Directors

Joyce Cunningham, President

I am a board chair for The Arc of St. Clair and have served as a board chair for Individuals and Support Council for St. Clair County for 26 years. I was blessed with two children, an amazing daughter, Katie, who will graduate college this year with honors and a wonderful son, Matthew, who attended The Arc for 17 years. Matthew loved The Arc and his friends at the day center. He led me to help The Arc that he so loved.

Brandy Reeve, Vice President

I live in Moody with my husband, Sean, and daughter, Avery Claire. I grew up in Moody and graduated from Moody High School. I received my BS in Nursing from UAB, and my MSN in Executive Nursing Administration from the University of South Alabama. I’ve held several positions within the field of nursing. The last 6 years I’ve held different nursing leadership roles at Children’s of Alabama at Birmingham. I currently hold the position of Division Director for Nursing Services. I am currently serving as the Vice President and hope through serving on this board, I’m able to advocate for others and contribute to something greater than myself.

Michelle DeGeorge, Treasurer

I have been married to my husband, Joey, for 32 years. We have two children, Taylor and Jonathan as well as one grandson, Aiden. I have the privilege of serving on the board as the Treasurer. My sister, Towana, has special needs and I am her caregiver. This program has been a huge part of our lives for 20+ years. The friendships and lifelong memories she has made are irreplaceable. I wanted to get involved to ensure this program would be around to serve other special needs adults for as long as possible.

Deloris Frazier, Board Member

My relationship with the ARC of St. Clair County first began as I started my career teaching students with disabilities. Not long after my teaching career first began, I started serving as a treasurer of the board with the Arc of St. Clair County. Shortly thereafter, I served as the Administrative Executive Director of Special Education for the Pell City School System. While in this role, I was able to refer students to the Arc of St. Clair County after graduation while still serving on the Board. I culminated my career by working at the State Department of Education in Montgomery, AL. A team of former special education coordinators from around Alabama monitored schools all over the state for compliance in the area of Special Education. Presently I am retired, and I continue to enjoy serving as a Board Member of the Arc of St. Clair County.

Jay Jenkins, Board Member

For the past 37 years, I have also owned and operated All-Pro Trophy in Pell City. I have served as a member of the City Council of Pell City for over 10 years, and have been very involved in civic activities for the past 40 years. Besides being a member of The Arc Board of Directors, I am also a Past-President and current member of the Board of Directors for the Pell City Rotary Club; a past Chairman and 23-year member of the Board of Directors of the St. Clair County Literacy Council; a current Board Member of the Pell City Historical Society; an active member and past 3-time board member/Officer of the Pell City Chamber of Commerce; and several others.
